Chapter 2980: Appearance

Aboard a Crocodile Clan warship.
Rest area.
After a bitter battle, members of the Crocodile Clan’s elite unit were soaking in culture fluid.
Soaking in this special culture fluid could enhance the muscle strength of the Crocodile Clan and increase combat strength, especially after training or actual combat.
“Sha…”
A Crocodile Clan warrior climbed out of the cultivation pod, looked around, and exited the lounge.
“Ka.”
The metal door behind him closed shut.
The Crocodile Clan warrior’s eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, and a mocking sneer appeared at the corner of his mouth as he walked forward along the ship’s passage.
Suddenly, the Crocodile Clan warrior slowly came to a stop, raised his head, and focused his attention on the passage ahead, his expression gradually turning grim.
The space rippled faintly.
“It’s you…”
The Crocodile Clan warrior stared at Fang Heng.
“The disguise effect was pretty good. Enough to fool the others.” Fang Heng stared back at the Crocodile Clan warrior, slowly releasing his aura. He asked, “What should I call you?”
Tiny red worms crawled out from the bloodshot eyes of the Crocodile Clan warrior, and within seconds, his face twisted into something terrifying.
“Sura.”
Sura sensed the aura of the Seed of Ouroboros within Fang Heng and looked at him, saying, “So it’s you, the newcomer who triggered another round of war. What’s your name?”
“Fang Heng.”
Fang Heng’s expression was calm as he stared intently at Sura. He then spoke, “Fighting the Star Eye with your flesh must not feel good, huh? I’m guessing you’re not in great shape. Otherwise, you wouldn’t resort to this kind of escape.”
“So that thing was the Star Eye… indeed, many things have happened while I was in hibernation. The strength of the spawns has increased significantly again…”
Sura glanced at Fang Heng, a hint of mockery at the corners of his lips, “But this isn’t called running away. The spawns are stronger than their allies, yet they’d rather provide weapons to these allies than join the battle themselves. Do you know why?”
Fang Heng raised an eyebrow and asked, “Why?”
“Because they’re afraid.”
Sura explained calmly, “The spawns fear us because we always find unexpected ways to spread—parasitizing and controlling them in ways they can’t defend against. We can never be truly eradicated.”
Sura looked at Fang Heng, a trace of admiration in his eyes, “Fang Heng, you were right about one thing. I am weak right now. This is your best chance to defeat me.”
Fang Heng stared at Sura, analyzing how much of what he said was true and how much was a bluff.
Whatever.
Better to strike first!
“Whoosh!!”
Fang Heng lightly tapped the ground with his toe and rapidly approached Sura. Lifeblood in his hand formed into a thin blade and slashed forward swiftly.
“Bang!!!”
The lifeblood exploded!
Sura quickly retreated backward.
The outer skin of the Crocodile Clan host was completely shattered under the rippling attack wave, revealing the writhing mass of worms gathered beneath the flesh.
“Chi chi, chi chi…”
Sura appeared to be shedding his skin as his rotting original body emerged from within the Crocodile Clan form.
Whoosh!
Sura suddenly paused for a moment in an eerily unnatural way, then dashed toward Fang Heng at high speed.
He moved so fast that he became a black shadow in the air.
“Bang!!”
Fang Heng raised his arm to block.
Sura’s arm twisted unnaturally and whipped around to strike from the other side!
“Bang! Bang bang!!!”
Sura launched several attacks in quick succession, each strike landing with a heavy thud in the passageway.
Fang Heng’s eyes grew grim.
Just as he thought.
Back on the battlefield, Sura had been deceiving the Shadow Clan allies, holding back his real strength.
So Sura represented the physically enhanced path of the Seed of Ouroboros?
As Fang Heng pondered this, Sura’s speed increased once again.
“Whoosh!!!”
Fang Heng’s eyes showed a hint of surprise.
Could he still get faster?
After three consecutive bursts of physical strength, Sura’s current attributes were already close to Fang Heng’s.
“Bang!!”
Sura threw another punch, which Fang Heng blocked. He looked at him with appreciation in his eyes and shouted, “Fang Heng! You’ve held out pretty well. How about this next one?”
“Whoosh!!!!”
Before he finished speaking, Sura’s speed surged again, rising to a new level.
Fang Heng squinted and dodged to the side for the first time.
“Bang!!”
Sura’s punch landed on the ship’s metal wall, punching a hole into the alloy surface.
“Woo woo woo…!”
Immediately, the entire ship’s alarm system blared.
“Hmph.”
Seeing Fang Heng start to dodge, Sura snorted coldly and charged again.
Another punch!
Fang Heng raised both arms to defend.
“Boom!!!!”
The blow rang like a giant bell being struck, sending Fang Heng crashing backward until he slammed into an alloy metal wall, leaving a large dent.
Fang Heng quickly stood up, checked his injuries, and resumed his battle stance.
“You’re strong too, Fang Heng.”
Sura noticed Fang Heng’s enhanced regenerative ability and looked at him more seriously.
Troublesome.
He was far from his best condition. In this world, he had entered hibernation and hadn’t fully recovered. Then came the Spawn Alliance’s attack, and the Star Eye’s assault had seriously injured him.
This was the best he could do in his current state.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have needed to escape disguised as a Crocodile Clan warrior.
…
“Woo woo woo!!!”
The Crocodile Clan ship’s alarm blared loudly.
Ship staff, alerted by the damage alarm, quickly dispatched the Crocodile Clan guards to investigate.
As they approached, they heard loud impacts and explosions coming from further down the passage.
The guards grew nervous, slowing their pace and proceeding cautiously.
What was happening?
Two dark figures clashed rapidly in the corridor, crashing together and scattering shockwaves that tore through the passage’s structure.
They were fighting?
The Crocodile Clan guard captain looked at the two blurry, unidentifiable figures and swallowed hard.
Terrifying!
The alloy metal used to build the ship was extremely tough, yet in front of these two, it was like paper—holes blasted through it with ease.
Meanwhile, the radar alarm blared continuously in the ship’s control center.
The Crocodile Clan captain personally arrived with reinforcements. When he saw the situation, he was momentarily stunned.
“Who are they?!”
“I… I don’t know…”
“Find a way to stop them!”
The crocodile guards felt helpless.
Stop them?
They couldn’t even get a clear aim on them!
The captain was heartbroken.
Fighting was fine—but did they really have to fight on his ship?!
